She has a very illustrious career with Royal Malaysia Police (RMP) after serving for 34 years. On 12 March 2021, she made history by being the first Chinese woman police officer promoted to the rank of Commissioner Police (CP) after 214 years of RMP’s establishment. CP is the third highest ranking officer after the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) and Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) in the ranking system of RMP.
