• Off-shore & migrate procurement processes from Vale Oman & Vale Mozambique, then centralize the procurement activities in ValeServe Malaysia
• Work closely with each regional procurement & logistics to increase cost reduction performance and on-time delivery in full quantity (OTIF).
• Assist in purchase requisition treatment (PRT) department & inventory department to identify internal requests with sufficient information, such as product specification, brand/part number, drawing, etc.
• Constantly assessing & sourcing globally to expand supplier database. Encourage healthy price competition without compromising the product’s quality & after-sales services.
• Strategically handle Ad-hoc, urgent, direct requisitions from end users while making sure daily productivity meets the department’s KPI together with the team.
• Constantly review process improvement by eliminating redundancy & standardizing workflow together with the team.
• Assist in Supplier Development by expanding their profile to support Vale in different regions.
• Analyze the historical purchase data of each internal client’s countries; assess the opportunity of each product/supplier to be bonded with contract/catalogue purchase based on 80/20 concept and Operational/Critical items.
• Daily review of department KPI, provide aid and guidance to peers to increase productivity and performance.
• Assess & analyze quarterly material management planning and 6 months production capacity planning against with WD demand strategy.
• Having quarterly negotiation to achieved cost reduction at 1~3% to enhance cost competency.
• To develop and implement cost reduction plan without compromising quality delivery as per engineering requirements.
• Analyze WD demand strategy weekly, compare with inventory and supply source then advise impact and action plan.
• Closely monitoring material supply demand planning to ensure on-time delivery
• Constantly review supply strategy to ensure all foreseen problems which could jeopardize the business are solved and/or escalated to management in advance with the solution proposed.
• Work closely with Regional Procurement, Production, Mechanical Engineer, Design Engineer, and Supplier Quality Engineer department to develop strategies and action plans to ensure performance and continuous improvement of cost saving, further, to comply with company’s policy and procedures.
• To advise, control and ensure the accuracy of material management planning for the product’s end-of-life exposure risk.
• Chair quarterly business and quality review meeting with vendors to sharpen potential improvement and assess potential process improvement in term of commercial & quality.
• Work together with Supplier Quality Engineer to conduct suppliers’ site audit to monitor & evaluating supplier’s performance.
• Resolve in component and material configuration matrix issue to deliver the best-in-class end product to consumer.
• Assist in new product development from design stage to mass production, to ensure best configuration matrix’s performance in minimum cost.
• Assess supplier tooling capacity ramp up accordingly to meet WD demand planning. And tooling invested economically justified & while meeting engineering specification.
• Active participation in plant wide Physical Inventory inspection.
