• Conducts research on sustainable finance, ESG issues, and corporate sustainability disclosures, supporting WWF’s advocacy and partnerships with financial institutions.
• Engages in key industry-led sustainability initiatives, contributing to regulatory and policy discussions.
• Supports WWF Network offices on sustainable finance initiatives.

Policy & Regulatory Engagement

• Represents WWF in the VBIAF Sectoral Guide working groups, providing sustainability insights across Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, Construction, Agriculture, Transport, Waste Management, and Mining.
• Provides expert feedback on climate risk and ESG regulations, including:Bank Negara Malaysia’s Climate Risk Management & Scenario Analysis guidance.
  Securities Commission Malaysia’s SRI Taxonomy & TCFD Application Guide via JC3 working groups.
• Acted as Rapporteur for the JC3 Flagship Event (2021).

Capacity Building & Industry Engagement

• Conducts training and knowledge-sharing sessions for financial institutions on climate and ESG risks.
• Presented on climate financial risks to Hong Leong Bank’s board, covering TCFD, climate scenario analysis (PACTA), and regulatory expectations.
• Briefed Malaysia’s top asset owners (EPF, PNB, KWAP, Khazanah Nasional) on the Net-Zero Asset Owner Alliance (NZAOA) and target-setting strategies.

Project Leadership & Climate Risk Analysis

• Project Lead for a UK PACT-funded initiative, managing stakeholder engagement, proposal development, reporting, and climate finance research.
• Led engagement with two Malaysian banks to apply PACTA climate risk assessment to their loan portfolios.
• Co-authored Climate Portfolio Alignment for Corporate Lending in Malaysia in collaboration with partner banks.

Nature-Based Solutions & Sustainable Finance

• Develops bankable nature-based solutions and supports WWF’s carbon offsets, biodiversity credits, and ecological fiscal transfers initiatives.
• Assisted WWF’s Marine team in securing SWITCH Asia grant funding for a sustainable aquaculture project.
• Conducted financial feasibility assessments for an aquaculture project funded by Malaysia’s Ministry of Finance.

• Co-managed daily operations of the Malaysia investment team alongside the Associate Director.
• Led end-to-end deal execution for Malaysian investments, managing 10 deals simultaneously from origination to settlement.
• Conducted due diligence on companies, assessing business models, financial performance, and growth potential.
• Developed investment materials, including pitch decks, teasers, and financial models for capital-raising firms.
• Built valuation models to assess company worth and optimal financing structures.
• Supervised and delegated tasks to junior analysts and interns, ensuring efficient workflow.

• Analysed financial statements and annual reports to assess company performance.
• Researched ASEAN markets and presented insights to fund managers and the CIO.

• SME Financing Framework (CIMB): Conducted 20+ stakeholder interviews (SMEs, banks, startups) to map Malaysia’s SME financing landscape and propose bankability solutions.
• Value-Based Intermediation (VBI) Framework: Contributed to a joint task force (INCEIF, World Bank, BNM, Islamic banks), benchmarking sustainability policies and co-authoring VBIAF sections.
• Sustainability Policies (CIMB): Assisted in drafting general and sector-specific policies (mining, forestry, palm oil), reviewing 17 global bank frameworks, and engaging WWF, DOE, and EIA consultants.
• VBI in Development Financial Institutions (DFIs): Co-authored a gap analysis report on VBI implementation across 8 Malaysian DFIs, launched by the Deputy Minister of Finance at Innofest 2019.
