PBT is a licensed trust corporation offering a full suite of trustee services across both retail and corporate segments. Retail services include will and wasiats writing, estate administration, private trust, and trust nomination. Corporate services encompass acting as trustee for private debt securities (conventional bonds and sukuk), unit trust funds (retail and wholesale), interest schemes (clubs and memorial parks), as well as providing services for e-money, merchant acquiring, equity crowdfunding, custodian, escrow, and stakeholder arrangements.
Key Responsibilities:
Retail Trustee Services:
- Oversee and ensure the smooth daily operations of Will Writing (conventional and Islamic), Estate Administration, Private Trust, and Trust Nomination services.
- Draft and review trust deeds, letters of wishes, and supporting documents (e.g., statutory declarations, sale and purchase agreements) to ensure alignment with client intentions.
- Supervise Heads of Unit, and monitor case progression and resolution.
- Enhance and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and internal control mechanisms for improved efficiency and compliance.
- Authorize trust-related transactions, including settlements, distributions, and payments to service providers.
- Oversee tax matters, including trust and estate income tax filings, and trust estimate submissions.
- Act as a liaison for high-net-worth clients, providing professional advice, updates, and resolving queries.
- Review comprehensive will drafts and advise on legacy planning strategies; maintain and update standard clause templates.
- Serve as the authorizer for Will Custody deposit and retrieval, and review commission reports for partner payments.
- Review trust clients' accounts prepared by designated officers.
Corporate Trustee Services:
Private Debt Securities (Bonds and Sukuk):
- Review transaction documents (e.g., Trust Deeds, Prospectuses, Master Agreements).
- Monitor covenant performance, and report breaches/events of default to regulators.
Unit Trust Funds (Retail and Wholesale):
- Review Trust Deeds, Prospectuses, and Information Memoranda.
- Ensure compliance with investment restrictions and SC guidelines.
- Authorize NAV computation, daily settlements, and fund investments (e.g., equities, bonds, money market).
Interest Schemes (Clubs and Memorial Parks):
- Attend Annual General Meetings, Liaison Committee meetings, and site inspections.
- Ensure operator compliance with trust covenants, including fund payments (sinking/continuity funds).
Other Corporate Services:
- Supervise document preparation and review (e.g., agreements, trust deeds).
- Oversee daily transactions, financial statements, and ensure that customer requirements are reflected in documentation and monitoring.
Regulatory and Compliance:
- Oversee regulatory submissions: Assets Held on Trust, Statement of Liabilities, FATCA, CRS, Annual Returns, Anniversary, and Annual Data Reporting.
- Supervise the Legal and Compliance Unit:
- Conduct risk assessments and due diligence.
- Review policies in line with regulatory updates and group alignment.
- Draft and review NDAs, and ensure compliance with AMLA, ABAC, and other regulations.
Strategic and Operational Leadership:
- Prepare and present operational board papers at bi-monthly Board Meetings.
- Act as a key liaison to the CEO on matters requiring executive decision-making.
- Review financial statements, management accounts, budgets, and forecasts.
- Authorize corporate payments, and serve as a signatory.
Business Development & Marketing (Ad Hoc):
- Contribute to annual budget planning and marketing strategies.
- Represent PBT in briefings, roadshows, and potential client/collaborator meetings.
- Create content for marketing materials, training, and presentations.
- Draft memoranda for Board approval, and review application forms.
Technology & Systems Enhancement:
- Coordinate with IT and vendors for operational system improvements, API integrations (e.g., FPX/DuitNow), and corporate website upgrades.
- Oversee change requests, production fixes, and enhancement testing.
Human Resources:
- Conduct interviews and staff appraisals.
- Participate in workforce planning and performance review processes.
