AI for Human Learning and Behavioral Change in Malaysia

In an increasingly digital world, cyber-physical systems (CPS) have emerged as the backbone of modern infrastructure. These systems, which integrate computational and physical processes, are crucial in diverse sectors such as energy, healthcare, transportation, and industrial automation.

As these systems become more interconnected and sophisticated, they also become more vulnerable to cyber-attacks. Traditional cybersecurity measures often fall short in addressing the unique challenges posed by CPS, where cyber threats can have real-world physical consequences.

This necessitates the development of innovative security strategies to ensure the resilience and reliability of these critical systems.

Behavioural AI, which leverages machine learning and behavioural analytics, offers a promising solution by enabling the identification and mitigation of security threats through the analysis of patterns and anomalies in behaviour. By understanding the behaviours of users, devices, and systems, Behavioural AI can predict and detect unusual activities that may indicate a security breach. This approach not only enhances the detection of known threats but also helps in identifying previously unknown vulnerabilities and attack vectors.

Despite significant advancements in cybersecurity, the dynamic and complex nature of cyber-physical systems presents persistent and evolving security challenges. Conventional security mechanisms, which primarily focus on perimeter defence and signature-based detection, often fail to address the sophisticated and multifaceted nature of modern cyber-attacks. The increasing integration of CPS in critical infrastructure heightens the potential for catastrophic failures, making it imperative to develop more advanced and adaptive security measures.

Behavioural AI stands out as a potential game-changer in this context, offering the ability to learn from and adapt to evolving threats by continuously analyzing behavioural patterns. However, the application of Behavioural AI in CPS security is still in its nascent stages, and there is a critical need for empirical research to validate its effectiveness and address the practical challenges associated with its implementation.
