  • The scope included trouble shooting, monitoring, network/servers management, capacity planning, project planning-implementation, vendor management, cost control, daily operation, quality & customer satisfaction.
  • Assisted in the management of the South Asia tier 3 data center in Petaling Jaya

    Key Accomplishments:
  • Project Onenet – implemented the merging of the separate corporate networks in the Asia Pacific region into a single seamless network. This project involved consolidating the multiple redundant lease circuits, reconfiguring all the Cisco routers to run the uniform EIGRP protocol, removing unnecessary ACLs or restrictions and had redundancy built into the network. This was carried out and completed in 1999.
  • MS Exchange – Completed the rollout of Exchange email to the offices in Malaysia
  • PC Migration – Completed the migration from Macs to PCs for close to 300 users in Malaysia
  • Project 10Net – Planned and implemented private ip addresses in Malaysia, Singapore and
    Thailand offices from the traditional combination of NIC legal and illegal addresses. This also involved the implementation of variable length subnet mask (VLSM) for the first time in the corporation in order to support certain sites which needs more than the 255 host.
  • High Bandwidth network – Planned and implemented the transformation of the wide area
    network in Malaysia and Singapore from the conventional lease lines to ATM and DS3 clear channel circuits.
  • WAN Diversity for Malaysia – Introduced and implemented a multi-vendor strategy for the
    supply of WAN and related services in Malaysia. Time dot Com was added to the list together with Telekom Malaysia. The strategy also involved the implementation of dual parenting and dual routers for all major sites in Malaysia. As a result of these, the downtime of the offices in Malaysia had been greatly reduced. This was completed in 2003.
  • Campus network – Implemented Cisco 3 tier campus network for Motorola Malaysia with
    gigabit backbone access and intelligent switch management system.
