Summary

I am Syuen with 18 years of experience and expertise in creating financial reports, analyzing data, and conducting operational assessments. I am graduated with Curtin University of Technology, Perth Australia with bachelor's degree major in accounting. As a self-employed financial consultant for SME since 2012, I have gained exposure to strategic financial and operation procedure development and implement to drive business productivities and efficiencies. Additionally, I also have experience in successfully implementing and managing cloud accounting systems and procedures for my clients.


In January 2020, I started my corporate career as a project finance administrator at Arcadis Group. Although this job required less experience than I had, Arcadis was a great platform to begin my career. I traveled to Hong Kong for training and meeting with the teams and Global Share Service Teams (GSSC). Despite my lack of experience in this industry, my superior and team members supported me, and I quickly understood my job responsibilities. My superior rated my performance as "Exceed Expectations" however due to global transformation uncertainties. Unfortunately, my position becomes redundant due to Arcadis Malaysia (JUBM) existing the group.


Jan'2023 until Apr'2023, I am a freelancer engaged with SME enterprises for financial accounts review, analysis, and internal audit review for respective client's year end audit preparation. Mid of Apr'2023 I received an offer from Pico Group HK as accountant for group review and group consolidation. For seen, I am not suitable for this position; and end my employment contract with notice period served.


Without any break time, I joined Worley Group in mid of May'2024 this position requested to be on board as soon as possible. It is a challenge role for me as senior accountant aka Legal Entity Rationalization Lead for Asia (excluded India region). I will be instrumental in driving our strategic initiatives of entity rationalization.


Legal entity rationalization is a process where companies review their legal structures to determine if all entities are necessary and to identify potential efficiencies or cost savings by simplifying or eliminating them. This process, often called corporate simplification, helps businesses create more efficient and sustainable operating structures, reduce risks, and improve operational transparency.


It is a good explorer for my career path as I have gained knowledge of different countries' rules, terms, regulation, procedures etc. I am happy and have built team cooperation and trust with all the LER Program support teams and with the external consultants. I am sad to leave my role with Worley Group due to contract end and without renewal. My supervisor informed me this position budget was freeze by global.


I am detail-oriented Senior Accountant focused on improving company financial operations and streamlining processes using effective leadership, planning and decision-making abilities.

Senior Accountant [Legal Entity Rationalization Lead for Asia (excl. India)]

  • To compile all information relating to any potential risk / compliance matters Analyze cost impact / cost savings for LER initiatives which may include but not limited to Loan forgives, Capital restructuring, mergers, deregistration, or liquidation.
  • Reviewing of respective entities' financial reports, finance positioning and historical data
  • Collaboration with respective colleagues from different departments, who can support us historical data and relevant information regarding LER program entities involved.
  • Design and implement solutions based on collected data (Analysis, preparation consolidation, internal audit review with analytical etc.)
  • Brainstorming and self-study respective region rules and regulations; and searching for respective region consultants' seeking advice with brief information (without crossing code of conduct).
  • Time to time collaborate closely with internal colleagues (such as location PIC, Asia Teams & Global Teams).
  • Brainstorming (drafting internal memos with recommendations/direction, planning) and preparation of solutions for open discussion with finance teammates, Asia Finance Controller and Asia Finance Directors.
  • Once both leaders agree they will tidiness the memos arrange a meeting with respective colleagues for a final discussion. Then, organizing approvals as per company DOA.
  • Complete ad-hoc reports / assignments as requested.
  • Time to time implement processing flow, monitoring the progress flow, and update the LER tracker listing.
