I am Sugindri A/P Lingasvaran, a dedicated and motivated student currently pursuing bachelor's degree in chemical engineering with honors in University Malaysia Perlis and expected to graduate in July 2024. At the present time, I am final year student currently doing undergraduate research on optimization of superhydrophobic coatings onto AZ31 Mg alloy using the electrodeposition method which serving as my capstone project. This endeavor not only honed my experimental skills but also deepened my understanding of surface modification techniques. Through this project, I am able to demonstrate commitment to precision and innovation in the field. As a result, I possess a keen interest in applying these skills to further research and development initiatives, making meaningful contributions to the advancement of engineering. Hardworking and passionate job seeker with strong organizational skills eager to secure entry-level chemical or process engineering position. Ready to help team achieve company goals.

Final Year Project      (Nov 2023 - July 2024)

Fabrication of Superhydrophobic (SPH) Coating onto AZ31 Magnesium Alloy using Electrodeposition Method.

  • Imbedded SPH coating onto AZ31 Mg alloy by manipulating 3 different parameters which are concentration ratio of myristic acid and calcium nitrate, deposition time and temperature successfully.
  • Contact angle and rolling angle of SPH coated samples are more than 150 deg and below than10 deg respectively.
  • Performed Hydrogen Evolution Reaction (HER) test to evaluate the corrosion performance of SPH coated samples and found that SPH coated sample produce less hydrogen compared to bare AZ31 Mg alloy
  • Surface analyses such as FTIR, XRD and FESEM were conducted to support the results.


Chemical Plant Design (Nov 2023 - July 2024)

Production of Aluminum Hydroxide from Bauxite

  • Conducted in-depth research on efficient Aluminum Hydroxide production routes and assessed economic potential for a chemical plant.
  • Developed a comprehensive design for Aluminum Hydroxide production plant, encompassing various components such as continuous stirred reactor, crusher, miller, pumps, heat exchangers, and centrifuge equipments.
  • Utilized engineering software tools like Aspen Plus, Polymath, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Visio to facilitate the design and development process.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership by coordinating a team of four members for the successful execution of the process design and analysis project.
