Surgical ward

• Provide pre-operative and post operative nursing care to surgical patients
• Monitor vital signs, fluid balance , wounds, drains and dressing
• Administer medications , IV fluids, and pain management intervention as prescribed.
• Prepare patients for surgery, including pre-operative assesment and emotional support.
• Assist with post operative recovery, including early mobilization and rehabilitation
• Educate patients and families about surgical procedures, post-operative discharge plans, and lifestyle adjustment.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthetists, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver coordinate patient care.
• Maintain accurate and uo to date nursing documentation and reports.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention, safety standards and hospital policies.
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies and escalate concerns to medical team.

CSSD Nurse

- Oversee and participate in the decontamination, cleaning, packing, sterilization, and storage of surgical instruments and medical supplies.

-Ensure compliance with infection control standards and sterilization procedures (e.g., autoclaving, ethylene oxide sterilization, etc.).

-Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes, biological and chemical indicators, and equipment maintenance.

-Monitor and operate sterilizers, washers, and other CSSD equipment efficiently and safely.

-Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage before and after sterilization.

-Assist in the management of instrument inventory and stock rotation.

-Coordinate with operating theatre and wards to ensure timely delivery and retrieval of instruments and supplies.

-Train and supervise junior staff or technicians as needed.

Report equipment malfunction or incidents promptly to the supervisor.

Comply with occupational health and safety standards, including personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
