My first job was working as a registrar at the university where I could learn and overall of administration, documentation, organizing the structure on a daily basis. I worked with 15 faculty members from the US and served 200 students from 30 different countries at law school and these gave me the skill of understanding different cultures. Since the job not only covered the academic affairs, I had chances to arrange the visitors and guests at school, events, meetings and conferences, which gave me the sense of working in different settings.
And, I have 8 years of experience working as managing director of the company in F&B business in Rwanda. The business has been successful having average 200 customers visiting every day. During the weekend and holidays, an average of 500 guests visited our shop. I focus on quality control and consistency of our products and services, also worked as public relation in aspects of sale which are the keys to a sustainable business.
I used to work with 65 employees in production, administration and customer service. This is a great asset in my career that I have learned how to manage those staff, assign the jobs and control their quality of work. I was engaged in all hiring process, review of the applications, interviewing, and closely supervising employees.
I am good at adopting unexpected circumstances and accommodating myself with flexibility. Especially, experience of working in Africa, made me to someone who can deal with problems, which sometimes doesn’t make sense; and expanded my understanding of human beings.
