Job overview
- Oversee and run the procurement and tendering process of a wide range of critical goods and services within the healthcare sector for the operation of the company, and also other non healthcare sector where it relates to the construction of the new UMSC Hospital (RM400 million project).
- This includes large-scale projects such as specialized construction consultants, and other renovation projects, acquisition of advanced medical equipment, service contracts essential to hospital operations, procurement of high-value medical implants, and general supplies.
- Directly reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, while also indirectly to the Chief Executive Officer and Medical Director. For significant tenders, I present my detailed tender to senior leadership including board members and chairman of the company.
- Implement several cost reduction initiatives to drive higher profitability to the organization, by means of vendor resourcing, and creating cost competition among vendors, and direct negotiation with vendors.
- Oversaw inventory management processes, maintaining optimal stock levels by minimizing waste, improving daily processes in the warehouse, and implementing more consignment of stocks on high value items.
- Implement new RFID technology in the warehouse for live monitoring of high value pharmaceutical and medical supplies to optimize stock holding value.
