Study (SURVEY) on the status salt water intrusion along the Miri coast, East Malaysia using Geotechnical, Remote Sensing and GIS technique.

• Geographical evaluation using Electrical Resistivity method for Groundwater exploration and investigation, involved utilisation of Vertical Electrical Sounding (VES) technique with Schlumberger array system.
• Responsible for conduct VES geographical survey along study area.
• Used VES to evaluate water quality and degree of cultivation of sandy soils in humid areas.

• Conducted research, gathered information from multiple sources and presented results.
• Perform site assessment phase activities: Site/area Surveys; Cave mapping, lithological cross section, rocks and sediment sampling.
• Studied maps and physical conditions prevalent at that location and explain reasons that led to geographic phenomenon.

• Converting geographic data from scanned image into vector data by tracing features. Features from traced map or image are captured as coordinates in either point, line or polygon format.

This related project is studied the distribution of heavy metals and the geochemistry from the upper Baram catchment through the Miri sea. Baseline of the project established for heavy metals will be an important reference point. for assessing the impact of any developements in Baram catchment into the future.

• Gathered, arranged and corrected research data to create representative graphs and charts highlighting results for presentations.
• Performed Geochemical analysis using AAS for determining the concentration of particlar element (analyte).
• Strata logging studied for depositional systems (logged stratigraphic turbidities sedimentary sequences).
