I'm an experienced Writer and Editor who's been in the Malaysian media industry since 2017 covering a wide range of SEO-driven content writing and editing for both print and digital media. My experiences include being a Senior Writer and Sub Editor for four local and international companies before becoming Editor at one of Southeast Asia's top news media companies, The Star.
Other experiences include aviation, early childhood education, freelance writing, and human rights activism. My job role as Sub Editor was to assist the Editor in assigning the team of writers to produce written content for both print and digital platforms for The Sun, a leading local news media company. I was responsible for curating and editing written content provided by the team of writers for the Lifestyle and Entertainment section of the paper, which is 6 pages in total, 5 days a week.
As assistant editor and senior writer for The Expat magazine in Kuala Lumpur, I was responsible for creating content for both their print and digital publications covering lifestyle, current news, hospitality, and client-sponsored stories. My responsibilities include conducting interviews for featured content, editing work by other writers to ensure they meet house style, liaising with clients for sponsored work, and managing scheduling for sponsored stories.
