In this research, an analysis on some commonly used techniques to compute the attenuation of waves in different types of waveguiding structures is performed. Here, the theoretical approaches commonly found in literatures are first reviewed. Losses based on the theoretical equations are computed. Simulations and experimental measurements are subsequently carried out to validate each different theoretical equations.
