NEEREYSHIA DHARMENDRA

I have been a teacher at MIGS for over 3 years. During my time here, I have:

• Taught at all levels of schooling, from Early Years (6 months), Primary, and Secondary Years (3 years). I have taught Cultural Studies, History (both local and Cambridge-based), Global Perspectives, Math, and English.
• Created my own curriculum for the majority of these subjects, creating my own lessons, exams, and rubrics from scratch. I have also taken on the role of a homeroom teacher for the past year, communicating with parents, handling the paperwork concerning my class, and guiding my students through their daily school lives. My main subjects are History and Global Perspectives. I I teach these subjects to Years 4, 6, 7, 8, and 9.
• Formed close bonds with many of my students, who often remark that they enjoy the my playful, and lighthearted approach to teaching. I integrated real-world examples and pop culture into lessons to increase relevancy and aid students in making connections between topics learned in class and their everyday lives.
• Coordinated school plays as an assistant director, took on leadership roles during Sport's Days, and accompanied field trips where I kept my group of students safe and ensured they benefited from the trip.
• Have also served as a mentor to new teachers, welcoming them to the school, offering guidance on managing the school's online portal, and sharing best practices to apply during their classes.

I took on private tuition jobs while job-seeking after university. From there, my portfolio grew to the point where I now teach 14 students privately. (Home Tuition). From teaching these classes, I have:

• Provided homework assistance using specific curriculum and materials.
• Motivated students towards learning and studying to build self-confidence and reduce fear of failure.
• Collaborated with students to complete homework assignments, identify lagging skills, and correct weaknesses.
• Provided one-on-one tutoring sessions, tailoring instruction to meet the specific needs of each student while promoting independent learning skills.
