Hospital Putrajaya is a tertiary hospital with bed capacity of 369 beds and Endocrine Institute is an endocrine referral centre with bed capacity of 220 beds. Hospital Putrajaya is also a rheumatology referral centre.

I have worked in General Medical Department which covers General Medical Ward and also their clinics from October 2022 to September 2023.

I used to see on average 6-7 patients in ward & 10-12 patients per day in clinic.

I did my Rheumatology rotation for 3 months. It involves seeing Rheumatology patients in wards, Daycare, Arthritis Clinic, SLE Clinic, Gout Clinic and Scleroderma Clinic.

I completed my endocrine rotation in Endocrine Institute from January 2024-April 2024. My Endocrine rotation included managing Endocrine patients in wards, carrying out Dynamic Function Tests, managing patients in Bone Clinic, Diabetic Clinic, Obesity Clinic, Thyroid Clinic, Neuroendocrine Clinic, Adrenal clinic and Thyroid Clinic.

My oncalls during weekdays are active, starting at 8am to 8am the next day and the next day I have to continue working in my respective rotation till 5pm. Oncalls during weekends are active calls from 8am to 8am the next day. I do 5-6 oncalls per month on an average.

Hospital Banting is a district hospital with bed capacity of 159 beds.

As a medical officer there, I worked independently with no house officers. During my tenure there, I used to do my daily rounds independently, performing venipuncture, doing referrals to tertiary hospitals and carrying out procedures in the wards.

Each medical officer will see of 7 patients on an average each day and update the ward consultants on patient progress.

I also had exposure to Intensive Care Unit and Cardiac Care Unit for approximately 6 months when I served Hospital Banting.

Oncalls there involve clerking patients in Emergency Department, reviewing admitted patients in General Medical Ward, venipuncture, IV cannula insertion, resuscitating critically ill patients, performing procedures and transporting ill patients to the nearest tertiary centre.

Active calls on weekday starts at 8am to 8am and the next day I continue work till 12.30pm. Active call on weekend starts from 8am to 8am, followed by passive call from 8am to 12pm.

I used to do 5 active calls and 2 passive calls there on an average every month.

I also covered general medical clinic and I typically see 10-15 patients per day.

I also manage patients in Dermatology, Endocrinology and Nephrology Clinics which was supervised by Visiting Consultants from nearby tertiary hospital.

I do also have experience in managing critically ill Covid-19 patients from May 2021 to December 2021 during the Covid-19 pandemic crisis.

Worked in General Medical wards for 6 months, with each medical officer assigned to 6-7 patients average/ day.

Performed procedures in general medical wards with assistance of senior medical officer.

I did 5-6 oncalls per months on a average. On weekdays, oncall hours starts from 8am to 8 am, the next day we carry out duties at respective areas till 5pm. On weekends, I work from 8am till 8am the next day.

Hospital Melaka is tertiary hospital in state of Melaka with total bed capacity of 806 beds
