• Play a central role in developing, implementing and overseeing HSSE components within Project organization, striving to create strong health & safety culture among contractors & workers.
• Ensure compliance with local & federal regulations, project specifications and abidance with HSSE Industrial Code Practices.
• Drive accountability for all project HSSE policies and state & federal reporting requirements.
• Representing Company & Project in dealings with regulatory agencies, industry groups and other external & internal stakeholders.
• Play a crucial role in preventing incidents, occupational injures, illnesses & environmental mishaps by implementing systematic approaches, safety protocols and training programs. Achieving accumulative of 60M project man-hours WLTI.
• Identify potential hazards & risk, conduct thorough risk assessment, and develop strategies to mitigate and manage these risk effectively.
• Ensure that the HSSE strategies are translated into operational action plans, in conjunction with all other project's operation team.
• Stay informed & proactively lead HSE teams and organization response to industry trend, best practices and innovations.
• Lead and take responsibility for managing the pandemic & other communicable diseases within the project community. Devise and implement strategies to safeguard the health of staff and workers, ensuring minimal impact on the project.

~Based in the HQ Corporate Office, leading the HSE Department in developing & maintaining Integrated Management System (IMS) at the corporate level and overseeing the management of HSE at all subsidiaries and projects undertaken by UEMB both locally & abroad.

~Provide HSE Leadership & direction to Division, Department & Project Managers.

~Serve as the corporate HSE subject matter expert with clients, regulators & UEMB staff working on projects or design proposal responses.

~Review all contract documents related to ongoing or proposed work for HSE related issues.

Among the projects that were under my direct purview are:-

1. Penang Second Bridge (Jambatan Sultan Abdul Halim)

• Construction of 24km marine bridge linking the island & the mainland, which als include the operation of segmental box girder factory.

2. Pahang-Selangor Raw Water Transfer Project

• Construction of 44km water transfer tunnel from Pahang to Selangor by applying the 5.2 diameter TBM and other tunneling const methods.
• This project has won the 2011 National Safety Awards

3. KLIA-2 Airport

• Construction of low-cost carrier terminal & associated works at KL International Airport Sepang.

4. MRT Line 1 - Package 8

• Construction & completion of viaduct guideway & other associated works from Tmn Mesra to Kajang Station (8km)

~Establish & ensure implementation of HSE Management System on the all phases (EPCC up to M&E completion) of the project.

~Prepare & coordinate Project HSSE Plan & Policy based on companies management standard and project requirements.

~Advise on setting up the improvement guidelines for Project HSE Management System to team member & ensure on the improvement are implemented.

~Establish internal audit & inspection program, and follow up on the improvement findings.

~Lead/Facilitate/Participate in accident/incident investigation and reporting.

~Study trend analysis from incident, audit findings and advise top management on areas of improvement.

~Produce & develop HSE training plan and risk assessment workshop.

The projects that I was involved in were:

1. Light Rail Transit System 2, Kuala Lumpur

• Project SHO for the construction of PUTRA LRT that runs the 29km line that connects the city's north-eastern to the west.

2. Putrajaya & KLIA Link Road

• Project SHO for the construction of Putrajaya-ELITE Link Road

3. Ministry of Finance Office Building. Putrajaya

• Senior HSE Officer for the construction of the 2 blocks tower of 12 story office building belong to MOF HQ in Putrajaya.

4. Electrified Double Track Project between Rawang & Ipoh

• HSE Manager for the construction of 182km electrified railway line linking Rawang to Ipoh.

• Maintain detailed documentation of inspections, test results and compliance with project specification.
• Monitor the disposition of all issued NCR.
• Coordinate all QA/QC activities with QC Manager
• Coordinate all quality related issue with the Client reps.
• Control all achieve documentation upon completion of project.

Involve in the construction of an onshore oil & gas processing plant GPP4 for Petronas.
