Dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse with over 18 years of experience in critical care, emergency, and cardiac services. Proven expertise in setting up and managing a fully operational Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, with advanced training in cardiovascular technology, including echocardiography, electrophysiology, and interventional procedures. Recognized for leadership, adaptability, and clinical excellence, with a strong commitment to patient safety and quality care. Currently seeking to contribute my clinical knowledge and management skills in a progressive healthcare environment.
Initially assigned to the Emergency Department due to the absence of a burns unit, I embraced the opportunity to grow in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. I quickly adapted to frontline care, gaining hands-on experience in managing diverse emergency cases. My daily responsibilities included venepuncture, IV line insertion, and assisting in patient resuscitation. I became proficient in triage, ensuring patients were prioritized and treated appropriately.
I also completed BLS and ACLS training during my time here, further enhancing my clinical skills and response readiness.
I began in the General ICU for 6 months, gaining foundational experience in critical care while the Burns ICU was still inactive. When the Burns ICU opened under the Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Department, I transitioned into a 1:1 care environment managing complex burn cases across all age groups. This specialized unit includes 5 beds (4 adult, 1 pediatric), and focuses on treating burn injuries, inhalation trauma, and related complications.
During my time here, I completed BLS, ACLS, and a specialized Burn Critical Care course, further advancing my clinical competency.
As one of the pioneer nurses in the newly established Burns Unit, I was actively involved in its setup and official launch on January 12, 2009. The unit, managed by the Surgical Department, specializes in adult burn care and includes 10 beds—4 for critical/ventilated patients and 6 for stable cases—with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio.
Over the years, I developed deep expertise in managing complex adult burn injuries and provided holistic care, from acute treatment to rehabilitation. I also supported junior staff and assisted in a variety of surgical and ICU-related cases.
