Lisa-Kim Ling KUAN

For most of my career, I worked in the Film and TV industry, starting as an assistant accountant and working my way up to Financial Controller, supporting productions from early prep through to delivery. My role sits at the intersection of creative ambition and financial reality—building budgets, managing spend, and keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

Having worked across Asia and Europe on studio and streaming projects, I’m used to navigating complex, multi-territory productions. I bring a practical, steady approach to the job, with a focus on clear reporting, strong teams, and making sure the numbers never get in the way of making a great show.

In 2018, I was headhunted to lead the Production Finance at Netflix Singapore. After I hired the regional leads, I returned to freelance work.

Accomplishments at Netflix

• · Hired PF Managers and Associates in Singapore, Australia and Thailand.
• · All the shows in Thailand, Indonesia and Australia used an accounting software for their costs, which improved efficiency and smoother audits. Adding skill set to the workforce
• · Started training accountants to use Movie Magic Budgeting in Thailand
• · In October 2022, the Junior Executive Trainee (JET) Programme that we started two years ago had five graduates who got promoted to associates
