Kalaiarasan Rasadurai

A passionate dispute resolution lawyer who regularly represents clients in court, arbitration, adjudication and mediation proceedings. Appeared in international and domestic arbitrations in both ad hoc and administered proceedings. Appeared at all tiers of the Courts, including for arbitration and adjudication related court proceedings and post winding-up proceedings.

Primarily practices in the areas of construction, engineering, oil & gas, energy, aviation, civil and commercial disputes. Experienced in various stages of construction and engineering projects and advised clients on a range of issues from contract administration, dispute avoidance, dispute management and resolution of disputes.

• Almost 10 years of experience in 2 different Tier/Band 1 Construction and Engineering (Dispute Resolution) Practice teams, having worked with numerous leading practitioners in the industry.
• Remarked as “very reliable”, in a Client Feedback for Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific 2019
• Appointed as the Head of the Law Reform Sub-Committee for the Bar Council’s Arbitration and Construction Law Committee 2023/2024. Led a team of lawyers to draft and submit an extensive proposal for the reform of the Construction Industry Payment and Adjudication Act 2012. The Proposal was approved by the Bar Council and submitted to the Legal Affairs Division of the Prime Minister’s Department (BHEUU JPM), Attorney General Chambers and AIAC.
• Invited to speak, debate and moderate at 21 different conferences, events and webinars organised by various institutions/societies. Received various positive feedbacks on the speeches, debates and moderating approach.
• Authored / Co-authored 5 Articles or Commentaries (2 more underway)
• Regularly invited to judge and coach various moot competitions including the William C Vis (East) International Moots, William C Vis Pre-Moots by AIAC and BICAM, ALSA International Mediation Competition, Friendly Moot Battle by Multimedia University and Novice Arbitration Moot Competition.
