• Led groundbreaking research into the oncogenic super-enhancer (OSE) by investigating the impact of a single CTCF binding site mutation on Myc localization and CCAT1 enhancer RNA expression in human colorectal cancer cell line (HCT116).
• Executed techniques including DNA-FISH, RNA-FISH, and chromatin in-situ proximity (chrISP) assays and discovered profound insights into Myc gene gating mechanism, shedding new light on potential therapeutic targets for colorectal cancer. This led to a publication in Nature Communications.
• Pioneered the adaptation of cutting-edge chrISP techniques to breast tissue cryosections, to elucidate the intricate relationships between the oncogenic super-enhancer (OSE) and nuclear pores (NUPs) within the 3D nuclear architecture.
• Contributed to and actively participated in research conception, design and execution to address defined problems.
• Applied advanced imaging analysis techniques by using software tools such as Leica LASX and Imaris on DNA-FISH, RNA-FISH, chrISP, and isPLA images, which are vital component for the paper published in Nature Communications.
• Supervised 4 junior post-doctoral fellows who joined the group, leading to enhancement of group productivity.
• Communicated group research findings through poster presentations in two eminent international Chromatin and Epigenetics conferences, with attendees of more than 3oo people.
• Key achievements: A publication in Nature Communications, awarded with KI travel grant and Radiumhemmets Forskningsfonder Travel Grant.
