I started at this company's ISO tank department and was assigned to the Operations department for largely maritime freight handling such as booking, dangerous goods declaration for permit, scheduling trucking, liaising with customers' requirements, and generating shipping paperwork with precise data. Mostly responsible for dangerous products freight transportation, both import and export. There were internal mechanisms in place to record the live status and location of ISO tanks during proceedings. There are various categories of dangerous goods (DG) cargoes, such as marine pollutants, corrosive, acidic, explosive, easily combustible, and softer cargoes with more neutral PH levels. Handling DG cargoes has its own protocols. MSDS paperwork are typically required at the beginning of a process. After 9 months in the ISO tank department.
I was assigned to a special key account where I solely handle bulk marine vessel shipments operations that move thousands of tons of dangerous products around the world. Because of the significant volume of risky products being shipped, I must deal with queries from Singapore customs on a regular basis. There are other shipments that require LC details, which are transmitted to banks for verification and subsequently to banks in the country of discharge and consignee for cargo release. Most exports with LC requirements go to third-world nations, where the bank insures and guarantees shipment arrangements for both buyers and sellers.
During my tenure here, I was expected to ensure service meets their expectations and in the long run to increase the business volume with the accounts for company's expansion.
