Thesis Project: Extracellular Vesicles as Biomarkers for Colorectal Cancer (CRC) Metastasis., The University of Western Australia, Perth WA, October, 2022, Designed and executed a research study investigating the value of extracellular vesicles as biomarker for CRC metastases., Determine whether plasma extracellular vesicles concentrations correlate with the development of distant metastasis, Analyse the types of integrins expressed on extracellular vesicles, Determine whether there is a unique miRNA signature of plasma extracellular vesicles that is associated with CRC metastasis development., Collected and analyzed two CRC cell lines and biological samples from eighteen CRC patients with different cancer stages., Utilized cell culturing, ultracentrifugation, Micro-BCA Protein Quantitation Assay , Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM), Western Blotting, and AMNIS ImageStreamX Mark II imaging flow cytometer. Also supported the research project involving Nanoparticles Tracking Analysis and miRNA sequencing methodologies., Contributed to the interpretation of experimental data and preparation of research findings. Presented findings at the UWA Graduate Research School, effectively communicating research outcomes to an academic audience.
