Batrisyia Ariff

As a law student dedicated to social justice and community engagement, I combine my legal education with volunteering. My goal is to understand the legal system and use it for positive change, combining my passion for law with volunteering.

Feeding the needy

• Actively participated in the Feeding the Needy Malaysia initiative, with a concentration on providing food to the needy in Kuala Lumpur's Chow Kit district. My engagement went beyond distribution; I was necessary in keeping the distribution areas clean and orderly, guaranteeing a dignified and polite environment for both recipients and volunteers. This experience not only increased my understanding of urban poverty, but it also sharpened my skills in logistical planning and instilled in me a strong sense of community duty and empathy for those in difficult situations.

Bekind Malaysia

• Volunteered with BeKind Malaysia, a non-profit organisation that helps poor communities by distributing necessities like clothing, toys, and food. Worked directly with the community, organising and distributing donations to individuals in need. Additionally, I facilitated the procedure for donors to contribute their things, including setting up and supervising booths during distribution occasions. This experience not only strengthened my dedication to social responsibility, but also improved my organisational, communication, and collaboration skills as I collaborated with a diverse group of volunteers to make a real difference in the lives of many people.
