I am responsible for supporting the Registrar in regulatory and recognitions matters such as providing the necessary administrative and logistical support that is necessary to ensure that all activities of the University pertaining to the academic programmes are in compliance with the Constitution of the University and all relevant laws of the country, specifically the Universities and University Colleges Act 1971. This includes programme accreditations and approvals to conduct academic programmes by the relevant regulatory bodies, University’s operating license, approval to recruit international students, appointment of Chief Executive Officer, application for additional premises, etc

Current Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all programmes offered by the University have the required approvals and accreditation of the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysian Qualifications Agency and other national and international regulatory authorities and that the approvals and accreditations are current.
  • Assist in the coordination of all procedures, logistics and activities related to approvals and accreditation (both national and international) including the preparation of documents and visits by the accreditation teams.
  • Preparation and submission of documents for new and existing programmes, including:

a. application to conduct new academic programmes

b. application for provisional accreditation

c. application for full accreditation

d. application for compliance evaluation

e. application for renewal to conduct programmes

f. application for renewal of programme accreditation

g. application for institutional audit of academic programmes

  • Provide administrative support to faculty in the development and submission of new programmes and accreditation of existing programmes to IMU-AQC, MQA and professional regulatory bodies.
  • Update and maintain an efficient and systematic electronic record filing system, particularly correspondences between IMU and the government and regulatory bodies, and ensuring that it is current and accessibility is available to relevant personnel only.
  • Coordinate meetings of the Board of Studies (BOS), including the appointments of Board of Studies, distribution of the Executive Summary and compilation of feedback by BOS.
  • Perform any other tasks as and when required by the Manager and IMU Management.
  • Lead coordination of University’s operating license renewal and amendment/s and application for additional new premises.
  • Represent RRD as a committee member in SETARA exercises and responsible for data submission to MOHE on behalf of the Registrar.
  • Responsible for department budget planning & monitoring of expanses for accreditation and approval of programmes and renewal of University’s operating license.
  • Responsible to ensure IMU/SOP/ RRD/02: Accreditation of Academic Programmes is current, properly documented/ updated and review regularly for internal and external audit exercises.
  • Supervise and train new/part-time staff by providing effective guidance, support and training as to ensure that work/tasks given meet the target.
  • To represent Manager in meetings in her absence.
