Summary

From a start-up to an SME, from E-commerce to Special Education. I have had 4 years of experience in Human Resource. I spent 2 years specifically in recruitment, internally building the Tech, Product and Operations team. I joined my current organization and has spent the last 2 years managing the operations, administration and other parts of HR. Currently leading the HR Department and my main focus has always been customer satisfaction, and my goal is to humanize Human Resource, delivering the "human" part of it.

Human Resources Lead

While partly still actively undertaking some of my generalist duties, I also took more in this role which includes:

1. Business Partner/Consultation

  • Proactively collaborate with leadership on impactful HR initiatives.
  • Conduct insightful 1:1 sessions to support managerial growth.

2. Recruitment

  • Lead strategic hiring plans and talent planning.

3. Managing the HR team

  • Train and manage HR personnel.

  • Introduced employee-friendly policies and benefits such as PIL(Prolonged Illness Leave), advance travel allowance, Scholarship Program for QBA/QASP certificates, and both physiotherapy/psychotherapy benefit.
  • Implemented 360 Performance Evaluation system to ensure fair and holistic appraisals across the company.
  • Embraced managerial responsibilities by effectively leading and managing a team of 2 (HR Executive & HR Assistant).

1. Compensation & Benefit

  • Stay updated on organizational and employee benefit needs.
  • Introduced better health insurance coverage plans(outpatient)
  • Conduct pulse surveys to measure employee satisfaction and enhance the working environment.


2. Payroll

  • Prepares the monthly payroll report in collaboration with the Finance department.
  • Ensure proper documentation of supporting documents for claims, MC, salary adjustment, promotion, deductions or allowances.
  • Liaise with relevant governmental bodies (LHDN, PERKESO, HRDC, PTPTN, JTK .etc) and third party service providers.
  • Explore methods to improve & streamline the manual preparation of payroll report.


3. Administration

  • Played a major role in the maintenance and administration of policies.
  • Revising current policies to stay relevant and be on top of changes as guided by MOHR, EA 1955, and government bodies.
  • Major involvement in the performance appraisal process, confirmations & PIP administration
  • Ensure full cooperation of the organization with any compulsory requirements required by law and governing entities


4. Recruitment

  • Full ownership of end-to-end recruitment function from job requisition to negotiation and on boarding.
  • Streamlining the recruitment process by continuously revising methods and recruitment processes.
  • Advice hiring managers on best practices for recruitment approach in accordance with the statutory requirements


  • Highlights:
  • Revamped the compensation structure for new joiners; introduced lenient administrative style and empowerment as the administrator of policies and as the main key reference point to employees.
  • Introduced new healthcare benefits to employees on certain stage
  • Streamlined & delegated the payroll processes with the Finance Department.
  • Created & rewrote the current outdated SOPS & Employee Handbook for ease of interpretation and clear guidelines.

1. End-to-end recruitment process

  • Building pipeline & facilitating screening, reference calls, offers & interviews.

2. Collaborating with hiring managers

  • Drive intern recruitment efforts with the team and closed around 30+ interns in first quarter of 2021
  • Took initiative & successfully rolled out updated company values and internal promotional campaigns
  • Actively contributed content for iPrice Linkedin profile which results in increased interaction, and helped gain 2K+ followers for the page
  • Connected iPrice with Universities and job boards to increase branding and reach out to more talents, resulting in a steady stream of organic applications
  • Refined interview process for different stages, specifically in the Tech department to ensure a smooth-sailing recruitment process
