

The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research and Innovation) (DVC-RI) is a senior executive leadership position responsible for shaping and executing the university’s strategic vision in research, development, innovation, and commercialization. Reporting directly to the Vice Chancellor, the DVC-RI provides visionary and operational leadership in enhancing research excellence, fostering a culture of innovation, and strengthening partnerships with industry, government, and international institutions.
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing research policies and strategies, promoting interdisciplinary research initiatives, increasing research funding and outputs, managing intellectual property and technology transfer, and ensuring compliance with ethical and regulatory standards. The DVC-RI also oversees research institutes, centres of excellence, and postgraduate research programs, while supporting capacity building and talent development among academics and researchers.
This role demands a distinguished academic with a proven track record in research leadership, grants acquisition, innovation management, and stakeholder engagement.
