In 1986, I started to work with Prima Emas Sdn Bhd (Primas Airport Restaurant) as a Purchaser. Responsible for the sourcing and purchasing of items for the Restaurant at Terminal 1, Subang Airport and other outlets. Single handedly in-charge of the store with the help from a storekeeper and a helper. Due to the company’s joint venture with Wattie’s Food Sdn Bhd, I was transferred to KTM Head Office to work on the operation of coach restaurant. When Wattie’s Food split with Primas Emas in 1990, I was absorbed into Wattie’s and when Wattie’s entered into another joint-venture with Budaya Caterers Sdn Bhd, I was stationed at Titiwangsa Seafood Restaurant as Purchasing Officer. My responsibilities were to purchase wet and dry goods for the restaurants and its outlets. Beside purchasing, I was also in-charge of the operation of the store room. In 1992, I was absorbed into Budaya Caterers Sdn Bhd after the Company split with Wattie’s Food. After a few years in handling purchasing only, I was promoted as Operations Manager. Beside purchasing, I was also in-charge of the overall operations of the restaurant and other outlets. I have made a record of getting sales of RM7.8 million a year. Since 1998, I was appointed by the owner of the Company to venture into other kind of businesses that he was involved with beside the restaurant. I was given the responsibility to handle a construction project mainly in sourcing the building materials and manpower. I have made direct contact with some of the manufacturers and also deal with the suppliers. I also handled the construction workers. The last project handled was the construction of a school in Jalan Batu, Off Jalan Ipoh. The other responsibility given to me beside the abovementioned, was to handle the maintenance of all the offices that is under our Group of Companies. I have to also liaise with the contractors, technicians and local authorities. I have to supervise all the work done. I have also handled the work permit for the foreign workers and have liaised with the Immigration Department, Fomema and Kementerian Dalam Negeri.
